ADC has significant experience in the planning and design of:

Aircraft maintenance hangars, engineering workshops and testing facilities, including British Airways maintenance base at Heathrow and Gatwick.

Cargo terminals, cargo handling installations, strategic stores, maintenance buildings and Duty Free warehouses at Heathrow and Gatwick. 

  • Review existing operation if appropriate
  • Review site location and appropriateness, i.e. airside and landside access etc
  • Clear obstacle surfaces penetration
  • Determine floor space requirements and potential foot print
  • Prepare written brief covering recommendations, relevant documents, functional brief, size/capacity, basis of design and specification
  • Concept design options
  • Evaluation of options against criteria matrix
  • Agree preferred design
  • Determine key functional requirements with stakeholder, i.e. the size and exact number of aircraft in the hangar, the level of maintenance required, nature of cargo handled and annual tonnage throughput
