2015 - Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, Pakistan: Airport Expansion

 

 

ADC was invited by Nespak to design and co-ordinate proposals to the Prime Minister, Mr Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad for the expansion of the airport. The current throughput is 8mppa and the capacity target is 20mppa. The existing terminal was completed in 2003 for predominately domestic traffic, but growth since then has been mainly international traffic with the result that the terminal significant expansion.

 

 

  • Lahore airport currently operates a passenger volume at 4.5mppa
  • Key constraints are within the terminal at primary processors, e.g. immigration
  • Percentage split between International and Domestic passengers currently is at approximately 70:30, whereas the terminal was originally designed for 30:70 International and Domestic passengers

 

 

  • Future terminal processing requirements for 10 and 15mppa
  • The terminal requires expansion from 70.000 m² to approx. 150.000 m².
  • Future aircraft stand requirements for 10 and 15mppa
  • CAA – owner & operator of Lahore airport to tender expansion work
  • ADC/Nespak in strategic position to support CAA with planning, design and consulting
