2015/16 - Kuwait International Airport: New Temporary Terminal

Modern terminals often take so long to construct that by the time the new terminal comes on stream, the existing terminal has been stretched beyond an acceptable level of service.

This is the case at Kuwait Airport, ADC supported GTA with the functional design and sizing of a temporary terminal for 6.0mppa of approximately 60,000m2.

The scheme involves a modular prefabricated structure and envelope system and provides 7 Code C and 2 Code E contact stands.

  • Assessment of terminal reference plans and sizing calculations
  • Processor and terminal sizing calculations for 6mppa for validation of reference design
  • Advice on compliance with IATA recommendations and LoS
  • Functional analysis and concept design for new terminal
  • Terminal and apron master plan and integration into existing airfield
  • Review of appropriate modular structural system
  • Terminal systems advice, e.g. baggage handling, stand systems etc.
  • Compilation of detailed analysis and design report for Directorate of Civil Aviation
  • Presentations to Directorate of Civil Aviation
